The rules of the house

A small gallery with a stubborn door

What this place is

Worth a Frame keeps 13 websites on its walls — each one photographed whole, its pigments drawn from the photograph, and a placard beside it explaining what the build gets right. It exists for two visitors: the designer hunting for work to study, and the maker wondering whether their own site would survive the committee.

The committee, and its verdicts

Nominations are read by one person, slowly. The test is not polish — polished pages are declined every week — but intent: did the maker choose something and build the whole page in service of it? Verdicts go out in writing with their reasoning attached, because an unexplained no helps nobody improve and an unexplained yes helps nobody trust us.

The ten-dollar fast lane compresses the wait to 24 hours and does nothing else. Declined pieces get the fee back untouched — the gallery would rather lose the money than owe anyone a kindness.

Why the links carry no fine print

Nothing on these walls paid to hang, so every outbound link is an ordinary followed one — there is no sponsored attribute because there are no sponsors, and no rate card in a back office anywhere. The day placement could be bought, the frame would mean nothing; that is the entire reason it can't be.

Pigments, honestly mixed

The little bars on each placard come out of our photograph of the site, not out of anyone's brand PDF. A piece hangs in the green room because green demonstrably carries its page. Follow any bar and you'll find its neighbors in that pigment.

For the framed

Every hanging piece may carry the worth-a-frame mark back on its own site. It is free, revocable by no one, and purely optional — the gallery doesn't count who wears it.
