BIG is Bjarke Ingels' architecture practice, responsible for spiraling museums, ski-slope power plants and a good share of contemporary architecture's headlines. Its site is one long, quiet reel of the buildings themselves.

The placard

The homepage is a single scrolling column of projects — a museum dissolving into a Suzhou lake, a timber ring in the forest, a cross-shaped retreat cut into treetops — each granted full width, each captioned with barely more than a name and a city. Chrome is reduced to a whisper of navigation; the buildings do all the talking, mostly in golden hour. For a practice this theatrical in concrete, the restraint on screen is its own flex: when the work photographs like this, layout would only get in the way.
